Former employees claim ArmorGroup lied to US
Two former employees have filed a lawsuit against ArmorGroup, charging the security firm with lying to the US state department in order to win a $187m contract to protect the American embassy in Kabul.

No-Show Contractor Hit With $4.9M Default Judgment
When Lt. Col. Dominic R. Baragona died in a traffic accident on an Iraqi highway in 2003, few would have foreseen that his death would prompt a federal judge in Atlanta to levy a $4.9 million judgment against a U.S. military contractor in Kuwait. Defendant Kuwait & Gulf Link Transport Co., which transports supplies into Iraq, is one of the U.S. military's largest contractors in the Middle East. The company has $100 million a year in Army contracts and also handles subcontracts.

Blackwater 'trade secrets' lawsuit settled out of court
A long-running lawsuit in which Blackwater USA accused a former employee of stealing trade secrets has ended with a whimper. The case, which featured a late-night police raid and allegations of false imprisonment, has been settled out of court. The terms are confidential. Each side must pay its own attorney fees and costs.

Triple Canopy Cleared in Two Firings
Triple Canopy did not wrongly fire two employees who reported seeing their supervisor randomly shoot into two Iraqi civilian vehicles in Baghdad last year, a Fairfax County jury ruled yesterday. But the jury also issued a harshly worded note criticizing the company's actions.

Ex-KBR workers' suit against firms alleges abuse
Four women who worked for Houston-based Halliburton Co.'s former subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root have filed federal lawsuits against the companies, claiming they endured sexual harassment and, in two cases, rape while working in Iraq.

Suit against Blackwater over contractor deaths moves to arbitration
This week, on orders of a federal judge, the dispute is scheduled to be taken up out of court by a three-man panel of arbitrators. By steering the case into arbitration, Blackwater has shifted a legal showdown over issues of battlefield accountability and presidential authority into a non judicial arena where the proceedings occur behind closed doors and the outcome is confidential.

Judge Throws out False Claims Act Lawsuit Against Custer Battles
A federal judge in Virginia has dismissed a False Claims Act lawsuit against Iraq contractor Custer Battles. Federal court judge T.S. Ellis ruled in favor of Scott Custer, Mike Battles and their company – Custer Battles – and dismissed allegations that the company committed fraud in connection with its contract with the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to provide security support services at the Baghdad International Airport.
