G4S Afghan contract raises profile of Britain’s security industry
G4S has won a £70 million contract to protect diplomats in Afghanistan as the Government tries to boost the profile of British security firms. Under the three-year deal, G4S will provide 1,000 security guards to protect the British Embassy in Kabul and other places used by UK diplomats.

State will hire contractor to supervise private embassy guards
The State Department plans to hire a personal services contractor to help supervise employees for ArmorGroup North America, which holds the contract to provide security at the American Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. A separate personal services contractor will be hired to oversee contract employees from Triple Canopy, which maintains a contract to guard the U.S. Embassy in Iraq.

ITT Awarded U.S. Army Qatar Base Operations Support Contract
The U.S. Army Contracting Command has awarded ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) a contract to provide supply, food service, transportation, public works, community service, medical, safety, environmental, fire, and postal operations support at Camp As Sayliyah and other facilities in Qatar. The award is for a one-year base period with options for four additional years and has a total value of approximately $125 million with all options exercised.

L-3 Awarded Two Contracts in Support of Iraq and Special Operations
L-3 Communications announced yesterday that its STRATIS division has been awarded a three-year contract valued at $230.9 million to provide intelligence support services to United States and multinational forces in Iraq. A second award to STRATIS was a one-year contract valued at $24.8 million to provide imagery analysis services in support of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
