Official: Blackwater's Iraq deal not to be renewed
The State Department said Friday it will not renew Blackwater Worldwide's contract to protect American diplomats in Iraq when it expires in May. "The department notified Blackwater in writing on Jan. 29 that it did not plan to renew the company's existing task orders for protective security detail in Iraq," said Joanne Moore, a State Department spokeswoman.

Iraq to Deny New License To Blackwater Security
The Iraqi government has informed the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad that it will not issue a new operating license to Blackwater Worldwide, the embassy's primary security company, which has come under scrutiny for allegedly using excessive force while protecting American diplomats, Iraqi and U.S. officials said Wednesday.

DynCorp Announces Second Quarter and Record First Half Fiscal Year 2009 Results
Results for the quarter exceeded expectations across the Company's core business areas with the exception of the Afghanistan construction contracts within the Logistics and Construction Management segment. CIA Curtails Contract With U.S. Security Firm in Iraq
MVM Inc., one of the biggest security contractors used by U.S. intelligence agencies, has lost the bulk of a Central Intelligence Agency contract in Iraq after failing to provide enough armed guards, according to company emails and contractors familiar with the decision. The CIA awarded the more profitable work-protecting officers traveling around the country to a Nevada company, SOC Inc.

Shell firms shielded US contractor MPRI from taxes
In March 2005, Virginia-based MPRI, founded by retired senior military leaders - won a $400 million contract to train police in Iraq and other hotspots. Two months later, MPRI set up a company in Bermuda to which it subcontracted much of the work. Tax lawyers say that MPRI appears to be sidestepping scrutiny by hiring workers through offshore entities based outside the jurisdiction of the Internal Revenue Service.
