TigerSwan Security gets Iraqi partner
A security company founded by two former Delta Force soldiers has partnered with one of Iraq’s largest private security firms. TigerSwan, founded in 2005 by Jim Reese and Brian Searcy, employs 32 full-time special operations veterans who manage about 300 contractors.

Blackwater remains in Iraq even without license
Private security guards employed by the company, now known as Xe, are slated to continue ground operations in parts of Iraq long into the summer, far longer than had previously been acknowledged, government officials told The Associated Press. In addition, helicopters working for Xe's aviation wing, Presidential Airways, will provide air security for U.S. diplomatic convoys into September.

Official: Blackwater's Iraq deal not to be renewed
The State Department said Friday it will not renew Blackwater Worldwide's contract to protect American diplomats in Iraq when it expires in May. "The department notified Blackwater in writing on Jan. 29 that it did not plan to renew the company's existing task orders for protective security detail in Iraq," said Joanne Moore, a State Department spokeswoman.

Iraq to Deny New License To Blackwater Security
The Iraqi government has informed the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad that it will not issue a new operating license to Blackwater Worldwide, the embassy's primary security company, which has come under scrutiny for allegedly using excessive force while protecting American diplomats, Iraqi and U.S. officials said Wednesday.

L-3 Acquires International Resources Group Ltd
L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it acquired International Resources Group Ltd. (IRG), an international professional services firm, on December 3, 2008. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The business is expected to generate approximately $100 million of sales for the year ending December 31, 2009. IRG will continue to operate out of its Washington, D.C. headquarters.
